They recommend that CIO's identify their biggest pain points, and adopt a Performance Improvement Funnel approach to leverage the unique, full value of social software. Hagel and Brown cite two examples from their Feb 2011 Social Software for Business study including: "Alcoa Fastening Systems reduced time spent on compliance activities by 61 percent using an internal collaborative platform provided by Traction Software.
